Jin Kim Hymers is an accomplished CPA, dedicated community leader, and committed mother and wife.

Jin Kim Hymers immigrated to the US from Korea with her family when she was a young teenager. Growing up in West LA, Jin's family instilled in her the values of hard work and perseverance, which helped shape her pursuit of the American Dream.

While attending University High School in West LA, Jin worked part-time jobs, eventually earning an associate's degree from Santa Monica City College. She continued her studies at UCLA, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Jin's dedication to her education led her to further her education, earning a Master’s of Business Taxation from USC.

 

Jin’s commitment to excellence led her to become a Certified Public Accountant, and she began her career at KPMG, a prestigious accounting firm. Over the years, Jin advanced in her field, working as a tax manager at Ernst & Young (EY) and later as a corporate tax manager at Farmer’s Insurance.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Jin co-manages her family's extensive real estate portfolio, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen. In 2013, Jin married Robert Hymers, whom she met at EY, and together they are raising three children in La Cañada Flintridge, where they moved in 2022 for its strong community and quality education.

Jin has always been civic minded and passionate about giving back to her community. She has supported numerous charitable organizations, including local educational programs and the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association. Jin and her husband have also established a family endowment at CSUN to support future generations of accounting students.

​

Balancing family commitments with her dedication to community service, Jin remains an active member of the La Cañada community. She is committed to ensuring that all children in the area have access to quality education and opportunities to succeed. Jin’s leadership and dedication make her a strong advocate for the values that matter most to our community: education, community, and the future.
